Feedback Request for STM32H757 PCB Design

https://kicanvas.org/?github=https%3A%2F%2Fgithub.com%2Fundefined2001%2Fstm32h757_PCB%2Ftree%2Fmain
Can anyone share their feedback on this?

I am concern about the 3V3 connection

  3. hemalchevli#0000

    Here is my feedback
    – Not really sure what you are building.
    – Good to add KiCAD version this was made with in README.md
    – There is no connector for input.
    – 1117 can deliver I think upto 1A, you should be good with that as long as its just powering the STM32, The tab is also 3v3.
    – The trace on top at pin 2 looks thin compared to the thick trace on the bottom.
    – Also too many via, calculate the current through via using Saturn PCB toolkit.
    – Add USB, SWD connectors for programming?
    – Add power on LED.
    – Should add fuse
    – Also reverse polarity protection.
    – I think the bottom 3V trace should branch out to minimize the voltage drop. See attached pic

Can give more feedback if you give some context on what you are trying to acheive.
    Cheers!

  4. undefined2001#0000

I am trying to make a pcb for this mcu boot it and program it

  5. undefined2001#0000

then someone told me that could be troublesome

  6. undefined2001#0000

I was confused about the 3V3 connection. At first i thought I should use sig-gnd-3V3-sig 4 layer stack

  7. undefined2001#0000

I am trying the way he suggested but still confused about the 3V3 connection since there are so many pins to connect

  8. undefined2001#0000

also I didn’t got your last point about 3V3 connection branching out

  9. undefined2001#0000

@hemalchevli This is the final PCB https://github.com/undefined2001/stm32h757_PCB.git but having these errors

  10. hemalchevli#0000

So you’re making a development board?

  11. undefined2001#0000

Also if you can please check it a bit for me then I will send it for printing

  12. undefined2001#0000

kinda yes but it is the very basic one only with necessary powering up components

  13. undefined2001#0000

I have bigger plan just want test it

  14. hemalchevli#0000

So, I’d suggest to add all the things from your plan, adding footprints is free if there is real esate available. You can leave to footprint unpopluated as you just want to test the controller part.

  15. hemalchevli#0000

I think you may need to add PWR_FLAG on the 3V3 net to remore the violation

  16. undefined2001#0000

    if I use PWR_FLAG I have to
    remove the 5V symbol

  17. undefined2001#0000

    PWRGND and GND is same?

  18. undefined2001#0000

I will do it later since I also need to read a lot of datasheet. for example, on board Ethernet port

  19. hemalchevli#0000

I’ll take a look when I’m on my machine

  20. undefined2001#0000

    thanks
