i’m re starting in pcb after 10 years, and i was wondering if there a tool like gitlab or github for pcb design that allows you to check diffs or pcb “code reviews” .. do you have any idea? I currently pushing everything to git but i would like to have some sort of visual diff or peer review
Hmm I imagine this is one of the big reasons the licenses from Altium, Cadence, etc are so expensive but @hemalchevli @afuevu_ dyk of any?
There is a plugin called kicad-diff, you can use to compare PCB revisions graphically. But I haven’t used it before though. You can check this link: https://forum.kicad.info/t/diff-tool-for-schematics-and-layout-using-git/28559
i found this https://allspice.io/ maybe somebody know this tool..
I don’t have an idea on this, I will check it out, thanks.
i think something like that, but its’ unclear for me, pcb cannot be compiled
Yup Altium has diff for schematic and layout.
I think kicad diff is one you are looking for starter, allspice could be next to try depending on how much diff you are actually doing.
You are correct, PCB cannot be compiled, but the closest to the compiled version is the gerber files.
