Hey everyone,
We just received the board from Iwave Global
Here are specs info dump:
CPU: Renesas RZ/V2L MPU, which comes with
– 2 x Cortex-A55 @1.2GHz ,1 x M33 core @200MHz(A bus connects the A series dual-cores to the DDR memory controller, storage, network and image processing blocks while another bus connects the M series with all the normal serial interface)
– The image processing block comes with a video codec processor and Arm MaliG31(The same one found in phones).
Peripherals: MIPI-CSI, MIPI-DSI, USB 2.0(host: 1 channel, Host only function: 1 channel), gigabit ethernet, CANFD, I2C, SPI, traditional serial comms(with and w/o FIFO), PWM, ADC, Serial Sound Interface,
Currently support Linux Image: 5.10
man, i think i can port zephyr to the M core present in it, if the vendor didnt lock it, as i dont see it in the zephyr supported boards
What do you mean if the vendor didnβt lock it?
You mean lock the m core as in not user programmable?
sometime, in the name of security, we only allow it to be programmable once.
yep!
most of the time, it is done, when is it handling system related features
Yeah in my experience they donβt usually advertise non user programmable cores unless they perform some task/function/feature that is important to the application.
Yeah like system maintenance etc
bingo!
